My give-away is pictured below, it's a silk scarf hand dyed by me in purple and turquoise. It's a two step process with special dyes so that part of the scarf takes one color and part takes another color. It's something I've been experimenting with, and it gives great results! The spots are velvety and the purple background is sheer. The scarf measures 68" x 13" and is soft and dreamy!
The fine print: You MUST have an active blog. You MUST leave a comment on this blog entry - and that post has to include a way I can contact you if you win. You can leave your email or you can leave your blog address (but make sure your email or contact me info is current on your blog!).
THE END - yes, all good things must end - is on February 15th - the day the winners will be posted. So the cut off for comments on my blog will be midnight on the 14th. I'll use a random number generator to pick the winners.

pretty scarf have you tried the altered ego dyes from Dharma, you put two colors in a pot of boiling water and one color goes to the silk and the other goes to the rayon. You get the same effect as you did with this scarf all in one process.

ReplyDeleteI love your scarves. The only dyeing I've ever done is easter eggs, my hair and tie dyed stuff back in the day. Oh and there was that one time I got in trouble over a washing machine/rit dye incident but we won't go into THAT.
That dot thing you do is amazing. And I love purple with blue a close second. I'm a scarf wearer too. Helps to draw the attention UP at my age.
I am going to follow your blog because I may want to try my hand at some dyeing in the future.

ReplyDeleteOhhhh gorgeous scarf! I died a couple of scarves a long time ago.. I gave one to my sister for Christmas. Her son was playing with it in the car on the way home, tossing it up and catching it. Unfortunately, the window was open a bit and it was gone. They stopped and looked for it for almost an hour. So, if I am lucky enough to win this wonderful scarf, I will give it to my sister to replace the lost gift. Thank you for being so generous with this giveaway!
